Using a web-based approach to store and retrieve data can
provide your organization with many benefits. Emergency plans can be
consolidated into a single data base, one that is as easy to navigate as a
web site. The site is designed to mirror the structure of your plan,
with a web page for each element. By starting on the "home page",
linking to an index, the user simply clicks on the links that take them to
the information they seek. Documents, drawings, photographs, forms,
can all be integrated into the system. Graphics can be stored in a
compressed format and retrieved as needed. A forms generator can be
created that will allow data to be collected and automatically inserted into
forms.
Once completed, the "web site" is published to a CD, DVD, thumb drive, or
onto a secure local server. You and your organization can have full
access to the information without ever worrying about compromising your
security. Each member of your command staff can be provided with a
single piece of storage media with all of your plans and critical documents
- your emergency plan can be implemented from any computer that has a CD/DVD
drive and a web-browser.
And, if desired, the entire plan can be protected with high-level
encryption to add additional levels of security. |
